Worli Koliwada Heritage Walk

Identified as an urban village or a ‘Gaothan’, Worli Koliwada is endowed with rich historical, social, and cultural significances. It is home to the aboriginals of Mumbai, the Koli community. A fort built by the Portuguese in 1561 sits at the very tip of Worli Island. Overlooking Mahim Bay, it is one of the iconic Mumbai landmarks.

Worli Koliwada is dotted with small, picturesque temples and a colourful motley of houses. This heritage walk will take you through the twisting lanes of the Koliwada exploring the history and legends of the area. For a good break from the daily routine, get off that local train and take a tour into the calm yet buzzing streets of Worli, right in the heart of the Mumbai!

Walk Details:

• Date – 19th July 2024

• Duration- 1 Hr

• Time – 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm

• Meeting time- 4.45 pm

• Meeting point – Cleveland Jetty (Worli Koliwada entrance)

• Nearest railway station – Dadar (Central Line Mumbai Suburban Railway)

Prabhadevi (Western line Mumbai Suburban Railway)

Things to keep in mind:

• Wear light comfortable clothes and walking shoes.

• Carry a cap/hat/scarf, drinking water (compulsory) light snacks (if needed)

• Travel expenses to be borne by the participant.

• No allocated parking spaces. Parking at owner’s risk

• No entry fees.
