UNB'ROCKEN BAND

We are super excited to be welcoming Balinese born and bred blues rock band Unb’rocken to Hatch!

Formed in 2013 by Garenk (lead vocalist, guitar & harmonica) and Komang (lead guitar), Unb’rocken is an exploration of a shared passion for music and its creative process. They were joined in 2022 by their long time friend, the talented Angga Wilan on drums and they are often joined on stage by friend and bassist Dion Yohanes.

Their careers began in local pubs around Bali, covering a multitude of classic artists; from the soulful blues of B.B. King, the iconic electric rock of Jimi Hendrix, the raw Chicago style of Muddy Waters to the technical style of Stevie Ray Vaughan.

From Led Zeppelin to Jeff Beck, Unb’rocken have become known for an wide range of musical styles and they quickly gained the attention of venues such as ‘Jazz Cafe’, ‘Laughing Buddha Bar’, ‘The Orchard Bar’ and various live music festivals around the island.

Unb’rocken’s debut self-titled album - launched in 2018, is an eclectic fusion of soulful blues & rock, combined with a mystical and psychedelic touch using traditional Balinese sounds in their song ‘Kaliyuga’. Unb’rocken was born and raised around art, artists and music on one of the most diverse and exotic places on earth, the Island of the Gods - Bali.

“We love the blues and base a lot of our musical soul around it, but we are also quite explorative and experimental - we don’t want to limit ourselves any specific genres. We are a band that aims to manifest creative freedom, allowing each of our members room to shine” - Garenk.
