Umeed KiRun is now in its third year (an initiative by Umeed Cancer Support Forum). The motive behind Umeed KiRun is to create awareness, reduce the taboo around Cancer and create a community support system.
Last year, a whopping 1250+ participants, in which patients, survivors, doctors, health care staff, supporters & volunteers participated enthusiastically.

at B.J.Medical Ground, Pune Camp
On the day of the event: 2nd February 2024:
- Warm up session at 5.45 am with Music and Zumba.
- Marathon of 1km, 3km, 5km, 10km will start at 6 am.
- Marathon will finish by 8.00 am.
- Motivational speech.
- Felicitation of guests.
- The event will conclude with breakfast by 10 am

EVENT RULES & GUIDELINES :
The following event rules and guidelines are intended to ensure the safety of all participants, to meet the requirements of local authorities and to be compliant with applicable regulations for participant performance records and event liability.
- Organizers of Umeed KiRun retain the right to refuse entry to anyone declaring false information on their registration form, not making the required payment, or otherwise failing to meet the stated entry requirements.
- Each participant to produce a valid government ID at the time of BIB collection.
- An email address is required for all entries. All correspondence will be via email. A separate email address for each participant is preferred but not essential.
- Each participant agrees that Umeed KiRun organisers have the right to all data submitted by the participants and may at their sole discretion share the same to our marathon partners, officials and photographers for the purpose of event related activities and information.
- The participant fully understands that participating in Umeed KiRun requires a certain level of fitness and as such declares that he/she is physically fit and medically able to participate in the event. He/ She has taken advise of doctors before participating in Umeed KiRun.
- Minimum age requirements for participating in 10Km race is 18 years as on 2nd Feburary 2025. The 5Km race is a fun event and is open to all age groups. Children below 18 years should compulsory run/walk along with at least (Preferably both) one parent & with consent of both the parents.
- The participant authorises the event organisers and the medical support team to administer any medical treatment as may be necessary in case of injury. In case the participant is required to be transported to a third-party facility such as a hospital or nursing home for treatment, the cost thereof shall be borne by the participant.
- The course and route support will be closed at 20 hrs from the time of the first flag off.
- All information, photographs, videos etc. taken during the event shall be the sole property of Umeed Cancer Support Forum or Oncology Group of Pune, to be used at the sole discretion of the organisers, in any manner necessary.
- Participant race number BIBs are specific personal identifiers and cannot be exchanged with or transferred/ sold to any other person. Sale and/or transfer of race entry/BIBs is strictly prohibited and will result in the disqualification and/or banning of any individuals involved, from future events.
- All contributions are non-refundable and may not be deferred towards a future event. It may also be increased or decreased at the discretion of the organizers. However, the revised contribution will not be applicable to already registered participants.
- Registration closure is determined and announced when event participation reaches the established capacity or on a pre-determined date.
- Participants must follow instructions as given by all event officials including race staff, volunteers, medical personnel, security officers, and city officials throughout the duration of the event.
- All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner during their participation in the event. Anyone violating this rule of conduct shall be disqualified from the event and will be asked to leave the course.
- Every participant shall be provided with an event Bib number, which shall be conspicuously worn on the front with the T-shirt provided basis the participant’s category of Umeed KiRun. The event Bib number is to be worn as issued. No participant shall be permitted to participate in the event without the appropriate BIB number.
- Except for corporate registrations, the kit i.e. BIB, Tshirt etc will be available for collection only at the Expo and will not be available for distribution at the venue on the race day.
- It is recommended to arrive at the venue at least one hour before the race schedule as given.
- It is recommended that participants should not carry expensive or important belongings, as no safekeeping facility will be provided at the event venue. Management will not be responsible for any theft or loss of any valuable items.
- Participants are requested to use public transport or car pool to arrive at the venue.
- Any person who participates in the event without a current official event bib number or timing device or a bib or chip not officially assigned to her is subject to removal and disqualification from future events.
- No persons are authorized to be on the course unless they are registered participants. Therefore, no person shall be allowed to accompany a participant if he/she is not registered in the event, nor shall any participant be allowed, without the permission of the event management, to receive assistance from anyone during the progress of the event. Any person not properly displaying an authorized and issued BIB number shall be directed to leave the course.
- Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage, symbols and colour relating to participant maps, facilities and direction.
- Medical personnel authorized by the event to do so may examine any participant who appears in distress. If in the sole opinion of authorized medical personnel, it is in the best interest of the participant’s health and welfare, medical personnel may remove the participant from the event.
- Event officials reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race due to any force de majeure circumstances. No refund will be issued in these circumstances.
- No refund will be issued if the event is cancelled due to a designated infectious or communicable disease or a threat or fear thereof, leading to quarantine or travel advisory or warning.
- The organiser has no liability for any loss of travel or accommodation costs that the runner may incur.
- All decisions by the organisers shall be final and binding upon the participants. Event officials reserve the right, to modify, supplement or waive all or part of the event rules.
- Organisers of Umeed KiRun reserve the right to cancel the event or postpone the date owing to conditions beyond the control of the organisers like pandemic, epidemic, civil riots, terrorist strike, floods, cyclone, natural disasters, public unrest, etc and such a situation shall be treated as force majeure conditions.
- By registering, the participant agrees, accepts and acknowledges the terms & conditions of the event and waive all claims against the organisers of Umeed KiRun and any party acting on its behalf.
