The Nashik district's Baglan region contains the twin forts Salher and Salota. The tallest fort and second-highest mountain in Maharashtra are both located in Salher. Salher is home to numerous historical ruins as well as the Parshuram Temple and Gangasagar, an artificial lake. Lord Parshuram is supposed to have performed his penance and meditations here. Salher is renowned for its fights fought under Shivaji Maharaj. It should be recalled that the treasures were initially transported here after the raid on Surat. Due to its location on historic trade routes, Salher was a significant fort. Salota still has three sturdy entrances. On top of the fort, there are practically any remains at all. From the summit of Salota, the views over Salher are breathtaking.
While the journey to Salota is also an easy hike and takes approximately two and a half hours, the trek to Salher is a well-trodden easy route that requires high stamina.
