In this talk, we’ll explore the evolution of software testing, from its origins to the present day, and examine how the rapid growth of AI is transforming the industry.
We’ll discuss the shift from manual to automated to AI-driven testing and how AI is reshaping traditional approaches—progressing from Copilot to Agentic to Autonomous testing paradigms.
The session will dive into what’s possible with today’s AI-driven technologies, the challenges they pose, and potential future use cases for hybrid testers.
Finally, we’ll analyze the ever-evolving landscape of testing tools and how AI is accelerating the speed and scope of software testing across diverse scenarios.

About Speaker:
Cristiano is an entrepreneur and product leader with 20 years of experience in software testing. He began his career in software development in 1995 before transitioning to leadership roles in software testing at major Brazilian companies.
In 2007, Cristiano founded Qualister, which became Brazil’s leading software testing consultancy at the time, and successfully managed it for 10 years. In 2014, he founded Kanoah, introducing a test management plugin for Jira to the market.
After the plugin was acquired by SmartBear and rebranded as Zephyr Scale, Cristiano assumed the role of Director of Product Management at SmartBear, overseeing the Zephyr apps within the Atlassian ecosystem.
In recent years, Cristiano has been deeply engaged in creating AI-powered testing products with a focus on increasing tester productivity
Now based in London for seven years, Cristiano is an active member of the global testing community, frequently speaking at conferences and engaging with user groups. He currently serves as Vice President of Product Management at Katalon, where he oversees the TestOps product line.
