Session #1: Building an enhanced QA process
Companies approach quality in different ways, but it often boils down to running manual tests after development is complete. This approach undermines effectiveness, erodes confidence in deliverables, and often leads to poor customer feedback. Focusing on improving QA processes will not only enhance product quality but also fortify the overall quality management system. In this talk, Sofia will share her approach to building and refining QA practices, drawing from her experiences and the challenges she faced along the way.
Key Takeaways:
About Speaker:
Sofia Dias, Software Quality Manager at Pairpoint
Sofia has 15 years of work experience, beginning her career as a Psychologist and University Researcher. While working as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, she discovered her passion for tech. After completing the Switch course, she transitioned into roles such as Front-End Developer, QA Engineer, and Engineering Manager, working in both service and product companies. Since transitioning into tech, she has worked in Agile environments, consistently embracing a shift-left mindset. Currently, Sofia is a mentor at Geek Girls Portugal and an active participant in QA and Tech events.
Session #2: Size Doesn’t Matter: QA Metrics That Make an Impact
As QAs, we embrace the mission of customer satisfaction with great dedication and try to cover our products with as many tests as possible so that nothing slips through the cracks. Many QAs struggle to demonstrate their value and the efficiency of their work, relying on the number of test cases produced as proof of focus and effort. However, large test plans do not necessarily mean quality, even if everything is automated.
So, how can we measure quality? How do we contribute to the success of our organization? How do we become active players, making an impact on the business?
