The Corona Virus has hit most countries around the world and has drastically affected normal businesses operations on the one side and normal consumption activities on the other. The Fashion industry has been especially hit as its products and services are discretionary and its consumption can be postponed.
The onset of the Carona has changed how Fashion as a business operates, certainly in the short-run and perhaps forever. With the new normal, challenges have increased and so have the opportunities.

Designer Ashish Soni
Ashish Soni launched his label in 1991, followed by his own independent design studio Ikos Designs in 1993. Ashish’s history is full of firsts. In the same year, he became the first Indian designer to hold a solo showing in Delhi, he was also the first designer to be invited to hold a runway show at Olympus fashion week, New York and, he was one of the first Indian designers to retail through Selfridges.
Ashish held his first exclusive menswear show in 1999. His experimentation with fabrics, infusing them with unusual textures and treatments took him to conceive embroideries for The House of Francois Lasage, Paris. He was then also chosen by the Government of India to present an exclusive collection to commemorate the Millennium celebrations of Khajuraho.
At his debut in Olympus fashion week, New York, September 2005, he was hailed as “one of New York’s new discoveries” by International Herald Tribune’s Suzy Menkes.
Ashish Soni has also served as the Chief Design Officer, for international luxury brand Vanessa G which was launched in London in 2011.

Designer Tarun Tahiliani
Tarun Tahiliani, one of the leading fashion designers in India, is the founder of the Tarun Tahiliani Design Studio. His signature designs are synonymous with high fashion and impeccable sensibility, with style, craftsmanship, quality and refinement as the defining symbols.
The Design Studio creates couture, diffusion, prêt-a-porter and accessories, which are Indian in construct yet international in appeal. His collections embody an international look, which is contemporary, chic and personifies grace with élan.
His talent has enabled him to transform traditional Indian drapes, textiles and techniques into modern, innovative, structured forms that translate into an international contemporary look.
Tarun Tahiliani started his professional career with a degree in Business Management from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. After returning to India, he realised there was enormous potential in the designer wear and couture garments sector in the country. In 1987, he opened the first fashion boutique in India - 'Ensemble', heralding a fashion and retailing revolution in India.
Tarun Tahiliani decided to hone his technical knowledge in the design and in 1991, he received an associate degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York.
Tarun Tahiliani held his first solo show in September 1994 in London. Since then, he has held numerous shows at home and overseas. In September 2003, he became the first Indian designer to be invited to participate at the Milan Fashion Week. He has held shows in New York, London, Milan, Tokyo, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Moscow and Karachi.
He has been awarded the Moet and Chandon Fashion Tribute 2004 Award for Designer of the Year for India and was invited to represent India at Hong Kong in October 2004. He was also awarded the F Award 2004 for Best Women's Designer for Couture. He is an office-bearer and member of the Fashion Design Council of India.
Designer Hemant Sagar
Hemant Sagar was born in New Delhi to an Indian father and a German mother, where he spent his childhood.
A student of design and dressmaking, he started his career as an apprentice in Germany in the 70s followed by Paris where he joined the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de Couture Parisienne.
The co-founder of Lecoanet Hemant, an Indo French fashion house in the early 80s Hemant Sagar is responsible for the parent brand along with its other labels; Genes, a contemporary fashion brand for urban style seekers and Ayurganic which is based entirely on sustainable practices.
Kevin Alderweireldt
Kevin Alderweireldt is the Co-founder and Business Developer of Cousteau Studio, a production company who makes Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality experiences with a focus on creative storytelling. Cousteau Studio has offices in Brussels, Amsterdam and Los Angeles.

She has been involved with operations in the fashion industry since 1995 with varied experience in different facets of fashion industry incku7ding managing the Indian production facility of a leading export house supplying to some of the top buyers in the US like Nordstorm, T.J Maxx, J.C Penny, Dillards, Wet Seal and Catalogues like - Lane Bryant etc.
Vani is Chief Mantor at International College of Fashion, Asia's fastest-growing fashion institute.
Prof Vinod Kaul
He is a seasoned professional with over thirty years of experience in the retail, fashion and publishing industry in senior positions. He obtained his graduate Honors degree (Bsc.) from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and Post Graduation (PGDBA) from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, specializing in marketing.
He has worked in Canada with Canadian fashion retailers. In India, he worked in senior capacities with brands like Tata Exports Ltd., Bata India Ltd., DCM-Bennetton India Pvt. Ltd. (Executive Director), Birla VXL Ltd. (PV-Marketing) and Ravmond Ltd. (Director-Retail).
He headed the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) as Executive Director from 2002-2004. In 2004, Mr Kaul Launched his start-up e-publishing venture, NewsVision which now has six publications in retail, fashion and luxury. In 2008 he launched India's first comprehensive retail database called DataLive. In Feb 2009, he was appointed Director once again at the Fashion Design Council of India. Mr Kaul is on the Brand of a number of Companies and Institutions.
