The 2nd edition of The Buddha Trails post a pandemic struck 2020 is ready to host your run exposed to the exquisite views of four 8000er mountain peaks of Himalaya. The Buddha Trails, set in the forests of the Sandakphu region near Darjeeling, has got its name from The Sleeping Buddha which is what the Kanchenjunga range looks like. Sandakphu is the highest point in the state of West Bengal (at 3,636m) and the trek is quite famous among the masses.
The date 3rd April is well chosen for this trail race in the North Eastern part of India as the Rhododendrons and Magnolia blooms set up the forest hues of pink and red on the route. The runners will run on the Singalila Ridge which crosses into Nepal many times and the views are set to take the tiredness off your feet -- metaphorically, such is the beauty of the region. Runners will see Mt. Everest, Makalu, Lhotse and Kanchenjunga (4 peaks above 8000 meters) during the run.
