Marathwada is a geographical region of the Maharashtra state. It was formed during the Nizam's rule and was part of the then Hyderabad State. It borders the states of Karnataka and Telangana, and consists of the districts Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (previous Aurangabad), Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded, Beed, Latur and Dharashiv (previous Osmanabad).
The region was ruled by various kingdoms like Satvahanas, Vakatakas, Rashtrakutas, Yadavas and Chalukyas. The region has historical towns like Ter (Tagarnagar), Paithan (Pratishthan), Ellora (Verul), Kandhar, Latur (Lattalur), Osmanabad (Dharashiv), Ambajogai (Jogainagar), Nanded (Nandigram). The region also boasts of multiple interesting and lesser known monuments. The include some famous landmarks like UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ajanta and Ellora. And lesser known monuments like Trivikrama Temple of Ter, Maharashtra's oldest standing monument.
In this special lecture, we will be attempt to introduce you to the magnificent and beautiful monuments in the region; including the history and architecture of the monuments.

Dr Dinesh Soni is a researcher , influencer and founder of Indian.Temples Research and Media Services . He has written 16 books on various topics. He is recipient of Doctorate in Cultural Studies. Dinesh is also recipient of more than 50 awards including Special appreciation award by Department of Ethnology, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan; Lokmat Digital Influencer Award (Heritage); Rotary Hero Award by Rotary e-Club of Greater Sydney, Australia; “Paul Harris Fellow” Recognition by Rotary International; Young Achiever Award by Rotaract International District 3132 and Maheshwari Achievers Award by Yuva Maheshwari, Latur. He was featured in the list of "40 under 40 Rising and emerging Industry Experts of India". He appears as a guest on multiple youtube and podcast interviews. He has also spoken in various Rotary meetings and events in India and outside. He is currently working on Nrityarchana - a video documentary on the dance sculptures in the temples of Telangana with Dept of Language and Culture, Govt of Telangana.
