Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas on sanitation and hygiene which he  considered to be more important than political independence.
Gandhi took a call for sanitation first during the Satyagraha in South Africa and later in India. Since then we Indians have done a long journey in this direction. But we have a long way to go further. This is because we are facing greater challenges with increasing urbanization population explosion.

With people getting more engrossed in their busy schedules, the harm being done to the environment tends to get overlooked. To bring to their notice, the importance of clean and pollution free surroundings, Swachh Bharat Run aims at creating awareness among the masses about swachhta by involving them in the mission to make India cleaner, greener and more beautiful
