Stories are human lifelines. Our lives, cultures, thoughts are all intricately connected with the stories we hear and tell, whether we are consciously aware of them or not.
We are all storytellers by birth. Think of how children narrate, imaginatively and animatedly, the world as they experience it. But as adults we tend to become self conscious and disconnected from listening to and sharing stories. Especially the fear of standing in front of people and speaking is a cause great anxiety.
Join us for a short introduction, or rather a re-introduction, into this joyous world of play, imagination and stories! We will play games and exercises to awaken the storyteller within, understand some basic techniques to work with stories and to learn them creatively (not through mugging).
By the end of the workshop you'll have a short traditional story under your belt, gained confidence in expressing yourselves in front of others and have learned some hot tips on how to tell a good story.
An ideal course for people from any walk of life, and especially for those who wish to tell stories or gain some confidence in speaking publicly and developing communication skills. This introduction is also a great step towards learning how to tell longer stories, which we will be engaging in the upcoming workshops.
