#SRTATHOME
Sinhagad, Rajgad and Torna forts to the rescue, as we all battle Covid19 to raise funds for the Covid19 affected!
WGRF which was started in 2018 has been forced to make changes in one of their 2 ultra trail running events. Due to Covid19, Sinhagad Epic Trail which was scheduled for 28 June 2020 has been canceled until next year.
While our flagship event SRT Ultra scheduled for 12 December 2020 is still hopeful to take place, announcements will only be made when conditions to travel are safe for everyone.
WGRF takes pride in their huge volunteer base, and around 50 volunteers are already active in the war against Covid19. Team WGRF also salutes you if you are one of the police officials, healthcare worker or a volunteer who is helping in the fight against Covid19.
We are heartbroken that Sinhagad Epic Trail had to be canceled, but we refuse to give up and instead have decided to focus on SRT Ultra 2020. The team has come up with SRT Ultra Virtual Marathon, a first of its kind fun activity through which you can achieve 2 goals while getting your beloved SRT Ultra Experience from wherever you are. We call it #srtathome.
What are the 2 goals?
1.) Participate in SRT Ultra Virtual Marathon: while most you are locked inside your homes, we have modified and recreated all the SRT Ultra distance categories understanding the physical limitations you will face while completing them. We want you to complete your preferred distance categories in maximum 10 days. You decide the time and distance, with no hurry. This goal is to stay fit, and healthy, and experience climbing a mountain at home. You can run or walk, your choice. And most importantly we want you to keep your memories of SRT Ultra alive and look forward to the 2020 edition too.
2.) Raise funds for Covid19 affected: we have tied up with Mashal NGO, and ResQ who are currently working 24x7 on the ground helping people as well as animals in these difficult times. The funds generated by you will directly be distributed equally among these NGOs to save lives of humans and animals.
* Please note you may choose to add more amount as per your wish during the registration to extend your support for the cause.
