DESCRIPTION: SRT Ultra Marathon is a thrilling run of the ancient route which connects the Sinhagad-Rajgad-Torna forts, more popularly known today as “SRT”. This route has become the magnum opus of trail and mountain running 53K marathon routes of Pune, Maharashtra and its surrounding areas becasue of its historic and aesthetic importance.The SRT route has been used in the past as a catalyst in commuting, trading, and farming apart from being the battleground for many kings who ruled these mountains. Of these, Rajgad fort was Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's capital in the 17th century Maratha empire.

The SRT trail is now a heritage walk, with the magnificent Sinhagad, Rajgad and Torna forts standing tall in between this route, each reflecting stories of the rich and glorious past of Pune.

To summarise in short, in this day and age, a new stage is set - a new battle to conquer these ancient Sinhagad-Rajgad-Torna forts in the form of a high voltage, endurance filled mountain running marathon in the Sahyadri range!

3 RUNNING CATEGORIES:

Sinhagad Half Vertical Kilometre: 11km with elevation gain of 700 meters ASL (around 2300 feet). (Distance & previous route subject to change)

Sinhagad to Rajgad (S2R): 25km with elevation gain of around 1000+ meters ASL (around 4560+ feet). (Distance & previous route subject to change)

Sinhagad Rajgad Torna (SRT): 53km with elevation gain of 2320+ meters ASL (around 7500+ feet). (Distance & previous route subject to change)

QUALIFICATION DETAILS:

SRT Ultra Marathon will take place on 8 December 2019, in Pune, India, starting at the base of Sinhagad fort.

3 individual categories determined by distance, total elevation gained and cut off timings.

All categories are open for men and women above 18 years of age on 8/12/2019.

No qualifying criteria for 10Km category, open for everyone.

A 25K participant must have completed (or will complete) one Half Marathon in under 3 hours between January 1, 2019 and November 30, 2019.

A 53K participant must have completed (or will complete) one Full Marathon under 5 hours 30 mins between January 1, 2019 and November 30, 2019.

Or, the participant must have completed (or will complete) an Ultra Marathon of 50 Km and above within the cut off time prescribed by the respective organisers of the race that you ran, between January 1, 2019 and November 30, 2019.

SRT Ultra will be a non-profit race and part of the proceeds will be donated to conserve forest land, and the protected monuments of the State Archeology Department.

Aid Stations

Well stocked aid stations at designated km points (aid-station map will be provided). Aid stations will provide drinking water, electrolyte drink, sweet snacks, glucose biscuits, salted snacks, fruits and primary first aid. Please plan to run with at least 1 litre of water on you, and some food for self-support. SRT Ultra Marathon is a semi autonomous run.

Transport Facility

Shuttle transport facility will be provided only to participants taking part in the 25K and 50K category from the finish point of their individual categories, back to the starting oint of Golewadi square of Sinhagad ghat road. Details are as follows:

25K: only the participants taking part in this category will be transported from base village Gunjavane (finish line) back to the starting point of Sinhagad base, after the marathon. There will be no extra cost charged for this facility.

53K: only the participants taking part in this category will be transported from base village Velhe (finish line) back to the starting point of Sinhagad base, after the marathon. There will be no extra cost charged for this facility.

*There will be no transport facility for the 11K participants.

*There will be no other transport facility apart from the above 2.

* VERY IMPORTANT: No refunds whatsoever in case of a no show by registered participant. In such a case, we encourage you to consider it as a helping hand towards organising SRT Ultra Marathon.
