Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Pune has made a feature-length historical research documentary 'Kathak Aadi-Kathak' on the history of Kathak and its relationship to ancient sculptures and the Naatyashastra. It is based on Guru Roshan Datye's, a Kathak exponent, art historian and scholar, research.
This 1-hour 30-minute film also gives a glimpse into what was ancient India and explores the discrepancies between what we believe about it and what they were actually trying to say. The film has been shot in 12 different archeological locations in North India and covers multiple beautiful temples and sculptures in those temples.
The film, directed by young director Rewa Rawat will be screened especially for followers of Indian.Temples channel on Instagram.
