We are hoping to spark the entrepreneurial spirit in the youth of India and give them a platform to nurture their business plans. Skill Up is not only about developing new industry standard practices but also to inculcate and revive existing industry knowledge.

BIZ Hackathon is going to be a sub event within Skill Up. It is a competition to help cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit of the youth of India. We are hoping to spark the entrepreneurial spirit in the youth of India and give them a platform to nurture their business plans. Skill Up is not only about developing new industry standard practices but also to inculcate and revive existing industry knowledge.

We plan to help the youth showcase their ideas in front of an esteemed jury through the Business Hackathon.

*Participation for Business Hackathon is completely voluntary. Do attend the speaker sessions with industry professionals for amazing exposure and growth*

Format/ Process

This is a business/ start up innovation, ideation and creation competition for coming up with a brand new, never before seen idea for a product/service.

ROUND 1

Pitch Perfect

For the first round only the presentation needs to be decided and shared with the mentors. The PDF of the presentation has to be submitted to the mentioned email address. Remember to submit the presentations in pdf format for the 1st round.

ROUND 2

Let's Innovate/ Shark Tank

In the second round the team will present the idea to a jury in real time, make their pitch, be questioned by the jury and will ask for a certain investment from the jury who will be posing as potential investors.

ROUND 3 Final Round

Mentors Metric

Most deserving candidates - personalized sessions and insights into the actual functioning of real businesses from fields of your choice. There will be other exciting prizes in store for the winner as well.

Theme

Sustainability. Innovation. Networking and vocational training. These 3 words hold the power for perennial growth of the youth and the world

Theme application - As per the team’s creativity and wish, any and all of these themes may be woven into their product or service. At least 1 theme has to be picked, it is compulsory. Brownie points to you for including any and as many SDGs in your product/service as possible.   

Rules

1. Registrations for the preliminary round begin on 16th June 2021 and the deadline for the same is on the 30th June 2021

2. Each team shall only be considered as ‘registered’ once the payment has been made and the presentation has been submitted. The payment alone doesn’t guarantee registrations.

3. For the participants who are selected to advance to the final round, the event will be held over Zoom over a duration of 2 days - 10th and 11th July 2021.

4. Results of the second round shall also be declared on the final day of event itself by the Jury Members.

5. Formal attire is mandatory for all participants.

6. For the second round the duration will be as follows - a maximum of 10 minutes for the presentation with a buzzer at 5 minutes and 8 minutes followed by a maximum of 10 minutes of question and answer round.

7. The idea must be original, plagiarized ideas will be disqualified.
