What is the "EVEREST" ing event?

The concept of Everesting event is very simple: Participants have to walk/run up on the Sinhagad Fort via the Sinhagad Ghat road and complete repeats of it in a single continuous activity until the elevation gained is 8,848 metres - the equivalent height of Mount Everest.

In order to achieve the elevation gain of Mt. Everest, participants will have to do 16 continuous repeats (climbs) of Sinhagad Fort. The participants only need to ascend the route to gain the elevation, and they will be brought down to the start point by road transport (two-wheelers) by the organizers.


EVENT DATE: 14th & 15th Dec, 2024 (Saturday and Sunday)

TIME DURATION: 6 AM on 14th Dec until 6 PM on 15th Dec


ROUTE DETAILS:

  • Event base camp: At the start point on Sinhagad Ghat road
  • Start point of each repeat: Ahead of forest department check post on Sinhagad Ghat road
  • End point of each repeat: Parking lot at Sinhagad Fort
  • Elevation gained in each repeat: Approx. 550 metres
  • Distance covered in each repeat: Approx. 7.7 kilometres  

PLEASE NOTE: The running route is on Sinhagad Ghat - Tar Road and NOT Sinhagad trek route


EVERESTING CATEGORIES:


1) FULL EVERESTING: Participants have to gain the elevation of Mt. Everest (8,848 M) by doing 16 continuous repeats of the defined route by walk/run from start point to end point. Approx. 120+ KM.

Flag-off time: 6 AM on 14th Dec, 2024


The participation in this category can be:

  • Individual (1)
  • Team of two (2)
  • Team of four (4)
  • Team of six (6) OR
  • Team of eight (8)

Please note: The team participation will be in a relay format in which each member must compulsorily complete a minimum of 2 repeats of the defined route. All the team members must report at the start point at completion of each repeat.


Registration fees per participant = INR 5999/- (Early bird at INR 4999/-)

Includes all meals for the race duration, campsite facility to rest & restroom facilities, two-wheeler drop to start point after completion of each repeat, race t-shirt, goodie bag, running bib, finisher medal, finisher trophy for team, hydration and nutrition, route support and physio + medical support.


2) HALF EVERESTING: Participants have to gain half of the elevation of Mt. Everest (8,848 M divided by 2 = 4,424 M) by doing 8 continuous repeats of the defined route by walk/run from start point to end point. Approx. 60+ KM.

Flag-off time: 6 PM on 14th Dec, 2024


The participation in this category can be:

  • Individual (1)
  • Team of two (2)
  • Team of four (4)

Please note: The team participation will be in a relay format in which each member must compulsorily complete a minimum of 2 repeats of the defined route. All the team members must report at the start point at completion of each repeat.


Registration fees per participant = INR 3999/- (Early bird at INR 2999/-)

3) MIDNIGHT FUN RUN: Participants have to walk/run on the defined route from start point to end point only once. Approx 7.7 KM

Flag-off time: 11:59 PM on 14th Dec, 2024


Only individual participation in this category.

Includes restroom facilities, drop to start point after completion of fun run, race t-shirt, goodie bag, running bib, finisher medal, hydration and nutrition, route support and physio + medical support

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  1. The responsibility of medical fitness resides with the participant.
  2. Race organizers, sponsors or any entity associated with the race organizers will NOT be responsible for any theft, damage, and physical injury happening during the race. The race organizers will take care to provide first aid assistance as fast as they can in case of emergency.
  3. The participant agrees that their participation in this event is voluntary. Furthermore, they agree to assume any risk associated with participating in the event, and releases Simple Steps Fitness from any and all claims of loss or damage that may arise during their participation. Such releases are without limitation, and include attorneys' fees, personal injury, property damage, and any other losses or damages suffered by the participant.
  4. The participant agrees to indemnify and hold Simple Steps Fitness harmless against any and all claims of loss or damage.
  5. The participants hereby warrant that they are physically fit and capable of participating in the event without undue risk.
  6. Simple Steps Fitness maintains the right to deny your participation in this event if we deem that it would risk loss or damage to any party.
  7. All participants are required to obey the rules and regulations laid by the organizers. Non-compliance to the rules will result in disqualification.
  8. No participant will be allowed without the running bib.
