Shyamchi Aai - Screening and Discussion

Back in 1953, Acharya Atre's Marathi film Shyamchi Aai, based on the autobiography of Sane Guruji, was based on the thought that a mother nurtures and puts her kid on the right path. The film was the first winner of the National Award for Best Feature Film (then awarded as the President's Gold Medal). Seven decades later, filmmaker Sujay Dahake has made a film based on the same literature, with screenplay by Sunil Sukthankar.
