Saura Painting is a style of wall mural painting associated with the Saura tribe of Odisha, India. These paintings primarily revolve around “Idital” – the Saura deity. Their whole theological system is dramatised in their painting traditions
In this summer workshop students will understand and learn the forms and elements. From illustration & Painting to identifying importance of animals, trees and cultivation. Most important, how this painting is different from Waril Painting ?
Saura painting shows that the tribe used to celebrate after a hard day’s work by singing and dancing in groups. Their painting shows the activites of every day life of Saura Tribe.
