Sandhan Valley: Also known as the Valley of Shadows, it is located amidst the western ghats of Maharashtra in the Bhandardara region near the famous Ratangad Fort. The base village of this trek is Samrad. From this village one can have view of the Mighty forts of Ratangad, Alang, Madan, Kulang and Ajoba. The pinnacles like Khutta and Baan are also visible from the village. An ancient geographic fault line by which this valley or gorge is created due to the years and years of erosion is truly a marvel of nature. The valley is about 200 – 400 Ft Deep and Approx 3 Kms long. It is impossible to descend Sandhan Valley in the monsoons as the rain water flows down this gorge at a great force. The game of Sunlight and Shadows in the valley is worth a view. At the end of valley, one is met with magnificent views of deep valleys and high cliffs. A walk through this Valley with hard black rocks on both the sides standing up high and rappelling down in the valley, Camping and staying in tents with an amazing food cooked on fire and under the sparkling sky full of stars is truly an adventure that any person should experience.
This trek provides a unique experience and is a perfect combination of adventure activity such as Rappelling and staying amidst nature.

ITINERARY
Day 01: 11th December 2020 – Pune/Mumbai to Samrad (190 Kms / 6 Hrs)
Report our Trek Leader at Girikand office at 2300 Hrs. Depart to Samrad by 2330 Hrs. Overnight bus journey to Samrad.
Day 02: 12th December 2020 – Samrad Arrival and Trek.
Arrive at Samrad by early morning at 0530 Hrs and rest for some time. Freshen up and have breakfast. Post breakfast get introduced to your new trek buddies and our team. After a short briefing session about the place we start walking towards the valley. We start descending the valley and take a halt in between and have lunch with two big walls standing beside you. We further descend ahead and reach the Rappelling patch where our team of Experts will guide you while descending. We reach at the campsite by late afternoon which is at the base of the valley and rest. In the evening have tea and snacks and pitch our tents and make preparations for the bonfire. At night enjoy lip smacking food cooked on fire wood and share our experiences. A short stargazing session if the skies are clear and overnight stay at Campsite.

Day 03: 13th December 2020 – Dehene to Pune (170 Kms / 5 Hrs) / Mumbai (120 Kms / 3 Hrs)
Early morning have breakfast and start the hike towards Dehene Village. You will be now walking in the Kokan Region. The walk is along the branch of the river and through the river bed. Arrive at Dehene and departure to Pune / Mumbai. Have lunch enroute.
