General Rules

• All participants are responsible for reading and understanding the rules, event information, and instructions given before and during the event.
• All rules and regulations must be obeyed by all participants, at all times.
• Participants must conduct themselves in a civil manner at all times during the entire duration of the event.
• Participants may not act maliciously toward any other person for any reason.
• Participants may not intentionally impede the progress of or misdirect any other participant for any reason.
• Participants must at all times behave respectfully toward all Race officials and volunteers.
• Violation of the conduct rules and/or any other inappropriate behavior by a participant will result in immediate disqualification.

• Equipments:

           Helmet Requirement: Helmets are compulsory.
           Front and Rear Lights:
           Front Lights: Front lights must be used whenever visibility is low due to fog, rain, or any other conditions that may impair visibility.
           Rear Lights: A functioning rear light is mandatory at all times during the event.

• Cut-Off Times:
  Strict adherence to cut-off times is mandatory for all segments.
  Late starts or finishes beyond the cut-off will lead to disqualification.
  Detailed cutoff times will be conveyed in later communication
  
• Neutral Zones:
  Descent times are neutral and do not count toward race timing as well as for everesting.
  Riders must descend safely and avoid reckless behavior.
• Self-Support:
  Sahyadri Classic is a self-supported event. This means that any form of external support from friends, family members or any other personnel (apart from race participants) is not allowed. All participants must prepare for any and all technical issues they might face during the event, and carry all the required accessories such as puncture repair kits, lights, etc. Hydration & Nutrition support from volunteers and/or roadside hotels is allowed. Backup vehicles are strictly not allowed. If any participant is found not following the above rules, they will be disqualified right there and then.
• Road Safety: Riders must follow all traffic laws and exercise caution in challenging road conditions.
  Participants are expected to follow all pertinent laws, regulations, and mandates from time to time as declared by government authorities.
  This includes, but is not limited to: riding/driving on the correct side of the road, stopping and waiting at red lights until they turn green, stopping at stop signs and checking for traffic before proceeding, using hand signals for all turns, keeping as far to the left as safety permits, ensuring they do not obstruct other users of the road
  Drafting behind cars, and motorbikes is not allowed. However, participants can draft behind other Sahyadri Classic race participants.
  Final Decision Authority: The Race Organizer’s decision will be final and binding in case of any disputes, discrepancies, or unforeseen circumstances.

Start Times & Sequence

Overall race is ITT ( Individual Time Trial) format ensuring individual riding and pacing for promoting better road safety.

Note : Even if the race is in ITT format, there are individual start and end cutoffs for each ghat for various categories.

From 7 AM: at the Base of Ambenali ( near Poladpur) for the following categories

• 6 Ghat Pro (Men):
  
• 5 Ghat (Team of 2)
• 4 Ghat Competitive (30+, 40+)
• 3 Ghat Legends (50+), Women Open
• 2 Ghat Women Senior (30+, 40+)

From 8 AM : From Pratapgad base

• 1 Ghat Recreational
• 1 Ghat Competitive
  

From 6 AM: From Medha Ghat Base

• Half & Quarter Everesting

Prize pool :

Note : Individual Ghat prizes are applicable only after finishing all ghats for the category

Note : For Recreational and Team Categories, there will be gift hampers for the top 3 finishers of each category.

Equipment Requirements
Mandatory:

• Cycles must be propelled solely by human force.
  Helmet
• Front and rear lights

Recommended:

Reflective gear, Repair kits, spare tubes & pumps.

Disqualification Criteria
Missing individual Ghat's and overall cut-off times.
External support, assistance of any type, or drafting behind vehicles.
Unsafe riding or traffic law violations.
Disrupting other rider's race
Any support/assistance vehicle or friends and family vehicles following the riders.

Arguing or any other misbehavior with Volunteers, Marshals, Race organizers, Race directors etc. 

Special Instructions
Mechanical support is available at the HUB (Hub locations will be conveyed later on)
Participants must need to be prepared for varying terrain, weather, and road conditions.
