Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI) - A Workshop by IITACB

May 04 | 09:00 AM (IST)

Event Information

Notwithstanding the principles guiding RAI, numerous challenges persist in its implementation:

  • Bias and Discrimination: AI algorithms can inadvertently perpetuate and amplify biases present in training data, leading to discriminatory outcomes.
  • Explainability: Many AI models, particularly those based on deep learning, operate as "black boxes," making it challenging to understand how they arrive at their decisions.
  • Data Quality and Bias: The quality and representativeness of training data significantly impact the fairness and accuracy of AI systems.
  • Regulatory and Legal Frameworks: There is a lack of comprehensive regulation and legal frameworks governing the development and deployment of AI, leading to uncertainties about accountability and liability.
  • Ethical Dilemmas: AI applications raise complex ethical dilemmas, such as the trade-off between individual privacy and societal benefits, or the potential consequences of autonomous decision-making.

ARE THERE REASONS TO BE ALARMED AND DO WE NEED TO TAKE STEPS TO MINIMIZE THE POTENTIAL RISKS?

To answer these concerns and to demystify the challenges facing RAI, IIT Alumni Centre, Bengaluru is pleased to facilitate a one-day workshop that provides an overview of these themes from a panel of distinguished academic and industry experts.

The format will be select lectures from renowned academicians in this field followed by a panel discussion involving industry and academia:
