Prathibimba

Prathibimba is an ambitious collaborative project by Janani Murali and Prathibha Ramaswamy on the Life and Works of Da.Ra.Bendre. Jnanpith awardee Da.Ra. Bendre is a name synonymous with Kannada Literature. The depth of his poems, the sheer magnitude of works written and his persona continue to inspire generations today and will do so in the future too. Drawing from his own life experiences, commenting on society as he saw around him, urging his audiences to become more progressive – his poems hold a mirror to the person, the poetic self and his vision of life and beyond.

With the intent to present the person and the work to diverse audiences, was born “Prathibimba | #13, Srimata, Sadhanakeri, Dharwad”. It is devised as a dance-theatre production, bringing together modern day audio-visual technology with Indic dramaturgy and dance. Take a journey into the poet’s life, through his poetry. Engage with the genius' perspective on life, love, ideals, spirituality, and more, for it brings forth questions and contemplations that we as a people must engage with.
