Night trek: Panvel to Matheran (New Year's Eve)

DarkGreen Adventure (#DGA) invites you for a thrilling trek to Matheran sunset point. Matheran can be accessed through various entry points, but the most scenic route is Panvel-Matheran. This route crosses a village, climbs up a ridge, enters a forest and then enters Matheran through sunset point.
31st December, 2020
21:00 - Assemble at Panvel bus depot and later move to base village in a bus
22:30 - Reach base village. Have Introduction and dinner
1st January, 2021
00:00 - Start trekking
03:30 - Reach Louisiana point and relax for a few hours. We have the option of a campfire.
06:00 - Explore and have breakfast. Early morning is the best time for enjoying Matheran.
09:00 - Start descending towards Panvel (same route as ascending) along with the trek leader.
12:00 - Reach Panvel and disperse.
How to reach Panvel?
- Local trains from CST, Andheri, Kurla etc.
- Buses from Navi Mumbai
- Cab from other locations (can be shared with other participants)
Inclusions:
- Travel from Panvel to base village and back in a bus
- Saturday Dinner
- Sunday Breakfast
- Trekking Guidance
Exclusions:
- Travel till Panvel
- Bottled water/cold drinks
- Sunday Lunch
- Anything not mentioned in ‘Includes’
Things to carry:
- 2 liter water (preferably in personal reusable bottles)
- A good quality torch, other than mobile
- Good trekking shoes or sport shoes
- Mats for sleeping (approx 2 hrs)
- A double strap bag. Sling bag not allowed in trek
- We appreciate people carrying healthy foods like juice packets, fruits, dry fruits etc.
