*Chawand Fort*

Chavand is a hill fort located in the Junnar region of Maharashtra.

The surrounding region of this fort is just awesome and you will get to see flora and fauna

at its best.

Height : 3400 ft

Dificulty Level : Easy

* Fascinating Spots * 

-Saptamatrika [Seven Cisterns] - These are the water tanks on the fort which have a good historical

significance. Unfortunately, during the time the Britishers attacked, these tanks were damaged a bit

-Hanuman Made caves 

-Temple of goddess Chamunda - At the top of the fort is the temple of the goddess called Chamunda.

*History Of Naneghat*

-The inscriptions in the caves at the top indicate that they are the work of Satavahana rulers who

came into prominence after the fall of the Mauryan Empire. It is believed that a powerful woman

ruler Naganika, the wife of Satakarni (180–170 BCE) of the Satavahana family commissioned the

cave, the statues and the inscriptions. Inscriptions in the cave mention her and her family

members. Though the statues adorning the sides of the rectangular cave are now gone, the

inscriptions still record some of the achievements of the dynasty.

-This route once was an ancient trade route which was extensively used to transport goods

arriving at Junnar. The locals are still found using this pass to reach Konkan. This pass once

served as a vital trade route between Kalyan and Junnar.

sleeves Shirt T-Shirt, Avoid Jeans).

*Rules & Regulation*

-No littering on the Trek, whatsoever. Participants are requested to carry the waste

back to the city and dispose it off in dustbins

-Carrying or consumption of Alcohol or Smoking is Strictly NOT ALLOWED. Anyone

found in possession of the same or consuming it will be expelled from the trek. NO

REFUND will be provided.

-Safety First is our Moto & we do not compromise on the same. Participants must

follow the instruction given by the Trek Leader/Volunteers for your own safety & the

group’s safety.

-Participants should not deface or damage any monument by writing or scribbling on

them. Please help us to conserve and preserve our heritage along with our Trek

Leads

-We strongly recommend not wearing/carrying any valuable jewellery. Participants

will be responsible for their own safety and baggage.

voluntarily or involuntarily, after it has begun. We will make no refunds for any meals,

accommodation or services not used. In case of NO-SHOW or early check out, non-
