For a few days each month during low tides, unique paths open up through the mangroves, offering us a chance to explore this lush and vital ecosystem. Join us on our Mangrove Walk at the Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary  where we uncover the secrets of Goa's mangroves and the fascinating life that thrives within these intertidal forests.

Discover the incredible diversity of plants, birds, fish, and crabs that call the mangroves home while gaining an understanding of their crucial role in protecting our coasts and supporting marine life.

By registering for our Mangrove Walk, you could a part of the movement to protect and conserve these vital ecosystems. Learn how you can contribute as a citizen scientist while supporting our ongoing research and conservation work at Coastal Conservation Foundation.

Walk Duration: 1.5 Hours - 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM

Things to note:

1. All participants must be over 15 years old.

2. We request that you wear a closed protective footwear. Wearing flip-flops or slippers is not advised as we will be walking in muddy areas.

3. No handling of any animal is allowed.

4. Please wear a cap and carry water to keep yourself hydrated.

Mangrove walks are always at the mercy of the weather. Kindly bear with us if this leads us to reschedule the event.


Terms & Conditions:

  • A Mangrove walk is a natural trail conducted in both sandy, rocky and muddy habitats. We require all participants to physically be able to walk a distance of approximately 1.5 km over a period of 1.5 hours.
  • The organiser does not take the responsibility for the loss or theft of any personal belongings or any injury that the ticket holder may accrue at the event. Basic first-aid will be provided by the Resource Person.
  • Smoking, drinking or other forms of intoxication are strictly prohibited during the walk.
  • Inappropriate behaviour of any kind by a participant shall lead to eviction from the walk.
  • We recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the starting time.
  • On the above terms, the organiser reserves the sole right of admission to each event.
  • In case of adverse weather conditions, the event organiser has the right to reschedule the walk.
