Margazhiyil Makkalisai 2022

Neelam Cultural Centre's Margazhiyil Makkalisai stages folk artists from marginalized communities and art forms in a way to assert the voice of the people, since 2020.

Margazhiyil Makkalisai is a celebration of rooted art forms namely Oppari, Gana, Folk, Hip-hop, Tribal Music, instrumental bands and many more.

Neelam Cultural Centre's Margazhiyil Makkalisai 2022 showcases indigenous art forms from all across the country. Reclaiming mainstream cultural space, Makkalisai amplifies the resistance, assertion and the stories of the marginalized communities. Adding to it Makkalisai's performances joyously reminds people of their rights to live and celebrate. And here, celebration of life is always celebration of equality! Art is for the people!
