Lecture on Andal's Poetry by Zakir Hussain

SNS presents “Kothai”, a lecture on Andal’s poetry by Dr. Zakir Hussain on Sunday, January 8th, 2023 from 8.00 AM to 9.30 AM. 

Andal is one of the only female Alvar’s among the twelve Alvar’s. The Tamil month of Margazhi is very much synonymous with her and the rendering of ''Thirupavai' at Vishnu temples in Tamil Nadu. Dr. Zakir Hussain is a well known Bharatanatyam artist based in Chennai. He serves as an advisor for all 17 district music schools under the Tamil Nadu government’s Arts and Culture Department. He is not only a dancer but a great Upanyasi and Spiritual Speaker. He is a recipient of the Kalaimamani Award by the Tamil Nadu government. 

The lecture will take place at Swapna, our SNS office and event space. We have only 30 seats available hence RSVP is MANDATORY. Breakfast will be served after the talk.
