King of Kumbharli - 2025 (4th Edition)

After the unprecedented success of the last three editions of the King of Kumbharli, Chiplun Cycling Club, established in July 2020, is bringing the fourth edition of the King of Kumbharli event with a new structure, an enhanced prize pool, and exciting improvements.

KING OF KUMBHARLI - 2025 (FOURTH EDITION)

This is the fourth year of the competition, which will be held annually. Over the past three years, we have received an overwhelming response. In the third edition, more than 325 participants from Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Delhi, UP and few international cyclists from Germany, Russia, and Great Britain took part in the King of Kumbharli event.

To promote fairness and excitement, the fourth edition introduces age categories, extra prizes, and a larger prize pool. Additionally, surprise sprints have been incorporated to enhance the challenge. We are also introducing a prize for the **King of the Mountain (KOM)** in the 12 km Ghat segment, available for all categories.

In last 3 edition best time to finish the entire route was 1hr 02min. If any rider who finish this entire route in less than 1 hour will get 5000/- cash bonus.

- Reporting Time: Exact 5:30 AM

- Event Start: Exact 6:00 AM

- Last Date of Registration: 15 April 2025 / When we full fill our pre decided quota.

CONVENIENCE

- Free accommodation will be provided to a limited number of riders, with separate common halls for ladies and gents.

- A free dinner will be provided to all riders on the day before the competition.

- Free bananas, mineral water, chikki, and energy drinks will be provided periodically during the competition.

- Free breakfast will be served immediately after the competition.

- A full-time cardiac ambulance with a doctor, as well as first-aid facilities, will be available during the competition.

- Digital timing bibs for all participants to ensure accurate time and speed calculations.

- E-certificates from the BIB vendor.

- Finisher medals/trophies for all finishers.

- Total elevation of the entire route: 750+ meters

- Total distance: 29 km

- Kumbharli Ghat segment distance: 12 km

- Kumbharli Ghat segment elevation: 600 meters

The race will start and end outside the city, with minimal traffic. Volunteers will manage traffic control at every stage of the race.

Age categories for males

- 10-17 (Kids category)

- 18-35 / Open Age (Elite category)

- 36-50 (Master category)

- 51 and above (Senior category)

Age categories for females

- 10-65/ Open age (Elite category)

AGE / IDENTITY PROOF

- For all age categories, an Aadhar card is mandatory as the primary proof of age and address.

- For international riders, a passport will serve as the official document.

- If any objections are raised regarding a rider's age category, we will scan the Aadhar card's QR code using the official mAdhar government app to validate the age and address details.

**For all categories (except Kids category):**

- Rank 1: ₹10,000 cash + Trophy + Special goodies/services from associated partners (if any)

- Rank 2: ₹7,000 cash + Trophy + Special goodies/services from associated partners (if any)

- Rank 3: ₹5,000 cash + Trophy + Special goodies/services from associated partners (if any)

- Rank 4: ₹2,000 cash + Trophy

- Rank 5: ₹1,500 cash + Trophy

Note: If any category exceeds 60 participants, we will increase the prize pool to include Rank 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, with ₹1,000 cash each.

Note: If any category has fewer than 40 participants, we reserve the right to adjust or reduce the prize pool or combine categories.

Kids category prizes

- Rank 1: ₹5,000 cash + Trophy

- Rank 2: ₹3,000 cash + Trophy

- Rank 3: ₹2,000 cash + Trophy

Note: If the kids category exceeds 25 participants, we will increase the prize pool to include Rank 4 and 5 with ₹500 cash each.

Special prizes

- Special cash prize for KOM in the 12 km Ghat segment - Best Climber (For all categories): ₹501 cash.

- Special cash prize for Sprint segment - Best Sprinter: ₹501 cash.

- Special cash prize for the first rider to finish the 29 km race in under 1 hour: ₹5,000 cash bonus.

- Attractive finisher medals to all finishers.

RULES

- Wearing a helmet throughout the ride is mandatory.

- Motor-operated or machine-driven bicycles are not allowed.

- All traffic rules must be followed.

- No aerobars are allowed.

- Vehicle support or drafting behind any vehicle is prohibited.

- Riders violating the rules will be disqualified and may not be invited to future editions.

- The race will be held one-way only.

- Riders are responsible for their return journey to the prize distribution location.

- As there is a steep descent on the return route, riders are requested to cooperate by cycling slowly and carefully.

- The decision to change prizes, rules, facilities, or the competition route will be at the discretion of the Chiplun Cycling Club.

- Each category must have a minimum of 40 riders. If the minimum requirement is not met, the organizer reserves the right to adjust the prize pool or merge categories.

- The organizer's decision is final, and no disputes will be entertained.

- Four-wheeler support vehicles are not allowed. If a rider is found with one, they will be disqualified (Rights are reserved with organizer).

- If any support vehicle or rider is found violating the rules or engaging in draft or fraudulent behavior, a warning will be issued on the first instance. If necessary, the organizer reserves the right to either disqualify the rider or impose a time penalty.

Discount
A 25% flat discount will be automatically applied for first 100 early bird riders or till 25 February 2025 whichever is earliest.

A 5% discount will be automatically applied during registration for groups of 5 to 9 people.

A 10% discount will be automatically applied during registration for groups of 10 people.
