Day 1: Welcome to Kashmir
(Paradise on Earth)
Today we all meet at Srinagar airport and head to our houseboat by taking a Shikara ride in Dal Lake. Overnight at Houseboat.
Day 2: Srinagar to Kargil
Have an early breakfast & checkout as we start our journey towards Kargil via Zojila Pass which is considered as one of the most difficult roads on Earth. En route, see the famous Tiger hill. We also cross the town of Drass (also considered as the coldest place in India). You can see the contrast of the valleys as you approach Kargil, which starts giving you a feel of a cold high altitude semi arid area. Overnight stay in a hotel in Kargil.
Day 3: Kargil to Padum
Yet another early start today as we have to cover the largest distance. We drive through the largely unexplored Suru valley, followed by Rangdum village. Just before reaching Penzi La, which can see the world-famous Drak- Drung glacier from the road. After reaching Penzi La (4400 mtrs.) We drive on the banks of river Stod. Overnight stay in a Hotel in Padum.
Day 4: Karsha Gompa & first glimpse of Zanskar
Today we visit the Karsha Village, which has the biggest Monastery in Zanskar. The place is located near the Zanskar river and houses around 100 monks. It has many old scriptures and books. The monastery stands on a steep mountain, making it a perfect picturesque setting in a fairyland. Our today's journey is going to be to a which is less explored even in the Zanskar valley. The road to Zangla offers some beautiful vistas and popular point where the Zanskar rivers bends a U-turn along with soil eroded rock formations around it. Zangla is a far-flung farming village in the valley. There is an old palace here which has a nunnery. The view of the valley from the palace is amazing. Overnight stay at Karsha.
Day 5: Quaint town of Bardan & Anmu
We start the day by driving back to Padum and then taking a road towards Anmu which is around 2 hours drive. The town of Bardan, which has a famous monastery, falls on the way. In the evening we reach the village of Anmu which can be recognized as a green patch in the otherwise barren landscape. Overnight stay at Anmu.
Day 6: Phugtal Trek
Today we are going to trek in one the most unexplored part of Ladakh. It will take around five to six hours. The trail goes through many amazing landscapes, and we have to cross the river a few times. You will enjoy such trails because you get a chance to jell up with your group, as you will be walking into a less explored zone without any mobile network. The Phugtal Gompa is located in the remote Lungnak valley. To view it from the fields down is one enchanting sites. It resembles a honey comb built around a cave perched into a hill. This place will make you one with mother nature and will definitely be an experience you will never forget ever in your lifetime. Back to Karsha. Overnight stay at Karsha.
Day 7: Karsha - Kargil
After breakfast, we start our journey back to Kargil. You can witness the Majestic seven thousand metres plus Twin Peaks of Nun and Kun on the way. Soak in the gift of nature and experience the luxury of being disconnected. Overnight stay will be in Kargil.
Day 8: Kargil to Sonmarg
When the mellow rays of the sun caress the snow-capped mountains, they turn golden, which gives Sonmarg (golden meadow) its name. Post breakfast, we will head to Sonmarg passing through zero-point. Overnight at Sonmarg hotel.
Day 9: End of Trip
Check-out after breakfast and get dropped at Airport. Today is the end of your epic adventure.
