Info:

Kalu waterfalls is in Malshej region of Maharashtra. It is the largest and highest waterfall in Malshej region. It is formed on Kalu River which originates from Harishchandragad Mountain and flows through Khireshwar village and falls down from deccan plateau to konkan part in Thitbi region. Total height of the waterfall is around 370m which is broken down into multiple stages. There are five stages or steps of waterfall. Kalu falls region is highly eroded along with its sister falls known as Reticha Zura. These are also known as Malshej Waterfalls along with many other small waterfalls.

Route

Pune > Bhosari > Narayangaon > Malshej Ghat

Eon Kharadi – 11: 00 PM

Viman Nagar - 11: 15 PM

Vishrantwadi Chowk - 11: 30 PM

Bhosari Flyover - 11: 40 PM

DAY 1 - SATURDAY

Will go to Khireshwar by 4 AM (Saturday)

Breakfast @ Khireshwar Village

Reach rappelling point by 7 AM

1 ST Rappelling - 6 AM TO 4 PM

(CAMPING @ 1 ST PATCH)

DAY – 2 SUNDAY

Rappelling – 5 AM TO 8 AM

Will go to Diwanpada by 10 AM

Brunch @ Diwanpada Village

Start return journey to Pune

Reach Pune by 8 PM

(Please note that all the timings mentioned above are based on the

previous experience from the treks. The timings may differ.

1. Water Bottle: A savior in many ways

2. Munching Items: Trail Mix, Dry Fruits, Chocolates or Energy Bars

3. Daypack or Backpack – Travel Light & Organized

4. Trekking Shoes or Hiking Boots – Walk the talk on your Hike or Trek

5. Swiss Knife - A multi-purpose toolset

6. Torchlight or Flashlight – Find the way in dark

7. Hand Sanitizer - Kills the unwanted germs

8. Trek Pants or Trousers – Feel the comfort

9. Cap or Hat - Get in the shade

10. Sunscreen, Sunblock’s, and Lip balms – Prevent the sunburns

11. Medical Kit - Personal Medicines if any

12. Extra Clothes - A Pair of Extra Clothes

Do’s & Don’ts during Treks

1) Do not throw Garbage & Plastic.

2) Use Call sign “Aayo” ‘Oyee” incase if you are not in visible distance to the group

3) Alert group against any falling object / rock – Recommended

call sign “Watch Out”

4) Avoid wandering alone or click Selfie’s near the edge of an exposed valley.

5) Do not eat or pluck any fruits from the forest without the permission of your trek leader. The same could be poisonous.

6) Do not provoke or harm any animals, birds or honey bees.

7) Do not jump into a water body without the permission of your trek leader.

8) Do not Litter Around or near a water source.

9) Smoking & Alcohol consumption is strictly not allowed in any event of RnT Trekkers.
