Kalavantin Durg Trek

Kalavantin Durg is situated just opposite to the Prabalgad Fort between Matheran and Panvel, Maharashtra approx 2300 ft from sea level. Kalavantin Pinnacle trek is divided into two patches, first is uphill terrain till Prabalmachi where the trek route is divided for Kalavantin durg and Prabalgad.
The second patch for Kalavantin hike is vertiginous, as the rock cut steps are very steep and is the only way to climb the Kalavantin Pinnacle. There are no railings or support while ascending 0r descending the durg and thus makes it the hardest part of trek.

Itinerary :

Board the Panvel Local Train on 
05:33 hours – Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CSTM)
06:51 hours – Panvel
07:00 hours – Private vehicle to Base of Prabalgad
08:00 hours – trekking towards Prabalmachi
09:00 hours – Reach Prabalmachi
09:30 hours - Have breakfast.
10:00 hours - Start trek towards Kalavantin.
11:00 hours – Reach Kalavantin top.
11:30hours- Start descend towards Prabalmachi
12:30 hours – Reach Prabalmachi Have Lunch
13:00 hours – Start descend towards base
14:00 hours - Reach base of Prabalgad head towards Panvel station

Thisngs To Carry :

• Snacks for interim & Water bottle [at least 1.5 litres (the rest quantity will be provided)] while travelling compulsory.
• Good trekking shoes, socks, slippers, etc
• Windcheater, Rain coats, Poncho, etc
• Energizers (Electral / Glucon-D) and personal medication (if any).
• Camera (Optional).
• Please do carry a change of clothes with you.
