Introduction: Traditional art forms always portray a lot of ancient stories related to mythology or the ruling kingdoms. Kalamkari is one such art form which used to be hand-painted with natural dyes back in the day depicting stories from Ramayana or Mahabharata where there was a unique use of patterns and motifs. Learn the ancient art form in the 2 days workshop with BAFA and relive the stories that we had always heard from our grannies.

Things you will require during the course:

Laptop / Desktop / Phone / Tablet access along with good internet connection.

Drawing Sheets, Pens (Pens Options: Ball Pen, Gel Pen, Colorful Pen, Brush Pen), pencil colors and Pencils along with Eraser and Sharpeners.

What will you learn during the Workshop:

A brief history of the Kalamkari Painting and how it has evolved over time with the technology coming in play.

The basic use of elements, motifs, lines, patterns and shapes used to enhance the overall painting. 

How the various elements from nature and ancient stories are put together to tell a story.

Understanding the details of art form and how it can be combined with the new age ideas.

This workshop is ideal for anyone (8 years and above) who wishes to learn the traditional art forms at beginner level.

This course is intended for people looking to enhance their art skills and children looking to learn new art techniques. 

About Artist: With 30 years of experience in art and design, Mrs Vineeta is a very popular folk artist from Jaipur. She believes in keeping the legacy of the traditional art forms alive and thus has dedicated her career towards learning and preaching about them to those who have been keen on learning art. She is proud to be associated with BAFA to pass down her knowledge of Kalamkari art style.
