IRS form 2290 efiling

If you register a heavy highway motor car in your name, with a gross mass of at least 55,000 pounds and driving more than 5000 miles (or 7500 for farm vehicles), you must file a 2290 form and you also need to pay taxes each year. You don't need to file IRS form 2290 if you own vans, pickup trucks, or panel trucks whose gross weight is under 55,000 pounds. These vehicles do not fall under the heavy-highway vehicle category. Trucks with a gross weight of more than 55,000 pounds and used for less than 5,000 miles (7500 for farm trucks) are exempt from the filing of the 2290 form.
