The Workshop would start out by looking at samples of various different styles of folk art, identifying them and then go on to Madhubani.
Origins of Madhubani, it's significance to the local people, it's different forms.
Explore the kohbar and aripan forms.
Identify and point out what are the characteristics of Madhubani.
How when and why it became commercial.
How it has evolved over time
How to go about drawing and starting a piece of artwork
How to create your own bank of designs
How to learn to compose a large piece of artwork
Explain the colouring technique and colours used.
All this will be covered by explaining things and showing a lot of material.
Participants will be provided with handmade paper, pens and handmade paper gift envelopes.
They will also take home printed material with information and a bank of designs, to this they could add additional work that they do during the workshop.
