Beyond Horizon strongly believes that womanhood is a journey in itself and you don't need any particular day or month to celebrate that. The organisation started its walk and talk on women of the past who stayed and left their mark in Calcutta on June 2019. The month of March being celebrated as Women's History Month worldwide,Beyond Horizon has planned to hold those walks and talks again to pay homage to them.
Not all women from history are remembered. Those who excelled others in some way or the other have left their names. They are talked about and immortalized in old texts, documents and stories, but with passing time have consigned to oblivion. Begum Johnson was one among them. Though she has always been remembered in history for her popularity and the influence exerted on Calcutta Society during her long stay in the city in British period, but forgotten by us.
Join us on 8th March,2020 to brush up our faded memory of the once popular Lady of Calcutta.
