Harmony in Math: Uniting Music & Math

Objectives

This course will help you to recognize patterns in music - melodic (ragas and modes), rhythmic (talas and time signatures), and chord progressions correlate musical patterns with fields of study ranging from poetry (rhyme and meter) to population growth (Fibonacci sequence).

Music as practice, to be approached as a set of skills that are mastered slowly and diligently

Music as a metaphor, to better understand data organization and information representation
