"Brazilian Soul – Fixel Trio
Fixel Trio presents a vibrant celebration of the Brazilian songbook, blending original compositions, improvisations, and unique arrangements.
Led by Brazilian drummer and composer Lucas Fixel, the trio features Jatziri Gallego (vocals) and Siddharth Gautam (guitar).
As a bandleader, Lucas has performed extensively in Brazil and internationally, with notable appearances in Spain, Sweden, and China. Now, the trio is set to make its debut in India with a performance in New Delhi.
The repertoire explores rich Brazilian rhythms, including capoeira, samba, maracatu, Ijexá, and bossa nova.
The evening will also feature special guest vocalists Nishtha Sood, Ojaswini Amrita, and Aditya Choudhury.
Lucas Fixel – Drummer, Producer, and Educator with an International Career
Lucas Fixel is a drummer, composer, and music producer from Rio de Janeiro, with a degree in musical arrangement and a deep connection to Brazilian music. His work bridges improvisation and songcraft, blending tradition with innovation.
Currently, Lucas leads his original project, produces singer Juliane Gamboa, and teaches at the prestigious Global Music Institute in India. He has collaborated with renowned artists such as Toninho Horta, Paco Charlín, Logan Richardson, Roman Filiu, Haroldo Mauro Jr., Cliff Korman, Edson Lobo, Romulo Fróes, Alma Thomas, and many others. In the studio, he has recorded with Victor Ribeiro, Rômulo Fróes, Tiago Rosas, Pablo Arruda, Juliane Gamboa and Bruno Repsold.
Lucas has performed at major international festivals, including Udaipur World Music Festival (India) LapaJazz (Brazil), PonteJazz (Spain), New Delhi Jazz Festival (India), Imaxinasons (Spain), and Feito a Man (Spain). His career encompasses performance, production, and education, always rooted in a profound connection to his musical heritage."
