Freedom Run 2021

The 1956 Revolution broke out in opposition to Soviet communist oppression and occupation, beginning with a peaceful demonstration for FREEDOM by university students on the 23rd October and ending in bloody street fighting after the 4th November.

Thousands of Hungarian citizens were killed, the FREEDOM Fight was crushed and communist dictatorship and Soviet occupation remained, becoming even more brutal. As a mark of respect for 1956, 23rd October has been a national holiday since 1989 in Hungary.

By completing the distances of 10K, 5.6K and 2.3 km of the FREEDOM RUN, we commemorate the sacrifice of these Heroes of

Distance Categories:

10Km Run (Min age 14yrs, 6:15am start, cutoff time 90mins)- 1000/-

5.6Km Run (Min age 12yrs, 6:00am start, cutoff time 60mins)- 1000/-

2.3Km Walk (Min age 10yrs, 6:20am start, non-timed)- 800/-

Aid station: Aid stations on the route

Portable Toilets: Near assembly area.

Baggage Counter: Deposit your baggage (no valuable item inside) at medal counter & Baggage counter

Parking: Car pool is suggested. There is sufficient parking space available near Chanakya Cinema area and Nehru Park.

Note: Follow all the Covid-19 pandemic guidelines issued by local health agencies. Assembly area and all aid stations will have sanitizer for extra hygiene care.

In case of cancellation or postponement of the event due to Covid related lockdowns & reasons beyond our control, alternate options will be offered to registrants to participate in our upcoming events. It means the registration fee is not refundable but can be adjusted in our future events.
