Flamingos make their long journey to India from Eastern Europe and Siberia. Mumbai itself hosts almost 30-40,000 flamingos every year.
The birds which can be spotted in large numbers are Lesser Flamingo's and Greater Flamingo's along with various other birds such as Pied Avocets, Northern Shoveler, Grey Heron, Egrets, Plovers, Sandpipers, Black headed Ibis.
Now is a good time to go watch these beautiful birds and boat safari is a fun way of seeing flamingos. There will be an expert bird watcher with you on the tour who will help in bird identification and give interesting facts about the birds, wetland and mangroves.
One hour boat ride will start from Bhandup Pumping station and open into Thane Creek which has recently been declared bird sanctuary.
You can see up to 30 different species of migratory birds at Bhandup. Possible sightings during the tour would be Lesser Whistling Duck, Garganey, Northern Shoveler, Spot Billed Ducks etc.
Total Duration of Tour will be 1.5 hours.

3. Floaters or sports shoes
4. Binoculars recommended for better experience
Trail level- Easy, walk of about 1 km to the boat jetty
Children Below 3 years are not allowed.
