No it is not a European whirl wind trip rather along the river Ganges one can find the lesser known historical facts – slice of European heritage in small towns along the river – colonies of European settlers. Danish colony of Serampore – Dutch colony of Chinsurah – Portuguese Bandel and French Chandanangore, all can be done in a day. These little towns beside the river still has lot of memories of the colonial days. One can find plaques written in French, crumbling cemeteries, imposing Basilica, Governor’s residences and some unknown secrets - all without the hassle of any kind of visa!
