Ettina Bhuja Trek

Ettina Bhuja is located 40 km from Dharmasthala at an elevation of 1300 meters. The name Ettina Bhuja means ox's shoulder in local language. The trek traverses through lush tropical evergreen forests and grasslands with moderate difficulty.

The panoramic view from the peak is breathtaking as you see never ending expanse of shola Forests of Western ghats.Scaling the last leg of the peak is a challenge as it passes through narrow ledge and takes about 15 from the campsite. When you watch the red rim of sun going down the horizon gives a new meaning to the daily routine that one watches unfolding every day.

The sound of the wind howling in the light of campfire, the magical dance of the clouds shrouded with mystery under the sparkling sky will make a mark on you that one cannot forget.

Itinerary Day 1

Reach base camp by 7.00 Am, fresh-up and have freshly cooked breakfast.

Post breakfast get ready for the trek

Have Packed lunch en route to the peak, and once at the base of the peak setup the camp site and ascend to the peak for sunset.

Have dinner with campfire and rest for the day.

Itinerary Day 2

Wake-up at 6.00 and once again ascend to the peak for sunrise, have breakfast at the campsite and leave for base camp

Once at the base camp get cleaned up and have lunch served and rest till the evening.

One can also stroll the areca nut plantation next to base camp and go to 15 century shiva temple

Leave for Bangalore around 5 to reach by 10.30-11 Pm.

Transportation to and fro from Bangalore in TT

Guide and forest entry charges

Food includes one breakfast, Packed lunch for first day, lunch on second day. One has to get packed ready to eat MTR packets for dinner on first day and breakfast on second day.

Tents, Sleeping bags, and lanterns.

Excludes: Dinner on the way Back to Bangalore, Chai Breaks While Travelling, and any other personal expenditure.

Things to carry

Trekking or Hiking shoes, Raincoat and good jacket, Camera, Flashlight and Personal Toiletries. Pack light with basic necessities and avoid Heavy Things
