Humankind soared into space in the middle of the last century. The giant leaps taken since then have pushed the frontiers of science and human understanding like never before. What made it possible now, as opposed to a hundred years earlier, are the tools at our disposal, including groundbreaking innovations like the development of space telescopes, advances in sensor technology, and efficiencies in space travel. These achievements paved the way for the space race and the exploration of our cosmos, forever changing the course of human history.
About your Speaker:
In this session we have Dr Amit Vishwas, who has built his career in Astronomy over the past decade and works as a Research Scientist at the Cornell Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Sciences. His work in astronomical instrumentation, for various radio telescopes like the (erstwhile) Arecibo Observatory and the APEX telescope in Chile, and scientific investigations, using various ground-based and space observatories, gives him a privileged view of how technology and science together push the frontiers of human exploration of the panspermia.
Join us for an interactive session on the Engines of Discovery by Dr. Amit Vishwas, at 7:00pm IST on Nov 25, 2023.
