“We’d like to share our childhood, seaside hangout with people who have an appreciation for the vintage, susegaad life.”
- Rohan Fernandes
That pretty much sums up the life at Fernandes Wadi farm stay. Started by ex-advertising professional Rohan and journalist Jharna (psst: she’s also a trained chef), this charming farm stay sits right on the Arabian Sea, besides Uran Beach. The Charles Correa designed property is home to over 80 coconut trees and an organic farm set up by the couple. Fernandes Wadi will be our pitstop for a workshop and brunch cooked by the lovely hosts themselves.
Our Uran cycle tour starts with an hour-long ferry ride to the beautiful Koli Village of Mora. As you’re slowly cycling past colourful Koli homes, you will come across a salt office that will remind you of the Uran of yesteryears: a village of the saltpans. You’ll ride past vintage homes, farm stays and little villages by the sea, before you enter the farming legend of Uran – Gajjas house. Here, Gajja will give you some insights into how to set up your home house garden (Gajja has also a collection of amazing seeds, which we sggest you pick up), while you walk through his field.
Your next stop will be the famous Fernandes Wadi, where you’ll have a hearty brunch followed by a walk around the farm (Trust us, you’ll need it). You’ll then settle down and engage with a local artisan for a little workshop prepared exclusively for you. Once done, you will then embark on a short ride back to the Mora Jetty with your cycles in tow and take the jetty home.
Please note: The ferry time is 7.45 am. The particpants have to report at 7.15 am
We will take the 4 pm or 5 pm Ferry out of Mora
