Bhil Art – How A Tribe Made Their Story Come Alive Using DOTS ! This art origin is from western & central India. Bhil is the second largest tribe in India. Who resides in states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.
Indigenous Bhil Art is a simple image of every day life of tribe. To create their art Neem twigs used as brushes. For pigments / colors made from natural materials like leaves, flowers. Their house has beautiful decor of myth & folklore on walls. Because it is simple and bold creation, Bhil Art gain popularity in recent years. One of the feature of this form of Art are dots which cover the entire background. Dots are repeated on complete painting in beautiful patterns and colors.
What children will learn in this workshop
Children will be learning about tribal art Bhil Painting. Origin, Art & Culture. Locating the tribe origin on map of India.
Bright simple yet so detailed. Animals and figures might not be technically perfect but anyone looking at should easily understand the motifs & story behind the painting.
Using primary and secondary colors to make the artwork. Children will use flat and bright colors. Bhil art represents pointillism, the details are filled with dots in entire area. Balancing the artwork with colors and figure.
Classes are conducted in Zoom App. This workshop is recorded and will be shared with participants.
