We often don’t make the connection between food and mental health. Just as food is critical to our physical health and development, it is equally important for our mental health. Our emotions influence how we eat and in turn, what we eat impacts our mental wellbeing. As we increasingly recognise the importance of mental health, we must also learn from experts how it is interconnected with our food habits.
Dr Lata Hemchand is a Senior Consultant Clinical Psychologist with more than 35 years of practice. She is a member of the Richmond Fellowship Society and a consultant trainer for counselling. She is a fellow of the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (IACP) and also former President of the Karnataka Association of Clinical Psychologists (KACP). She is a recipient of the Cadabam’s Distinguished Psychiatrist and Mental Health Professional award.
