About the Walk:
Banganga, Mumbai’s oldest inhabited area, is a serene oasis with its stone-stepped freshwater tank, ancient temples, and winding lanes. Known as a mini-Banaras with the soul of the Ganges, this site is rich in history, spirituality, and timeless stories from the Ramayana.
During Deva Deepavali (Deepotsav), thousands of oil lamps illuminate the historic Banganga Tank, casting a mesmerizing glow that celebrates the divine. This annual festival, held on Kartik Purnima, blends spirituality, heritage, and community, making it a unique experience that draws visitors to witness the glow and beauty of this sacred site.
This cultural photography walk, led by renowned photographer Suresh Naganathan and The Heritage Project Team, offers a rare opportunity to capture the festival’s beauty and spirit. Whether you're a professional or simply love taking photos, this walk is for everyone. Come frame unforgettable moments and stand a chance to win exciting prizes for your best captures!
