.Positive masculinity is a way of being a man that is based on values such as respect, responsibility, and compassion. It is about being strong, confident, and assertive, without being aggressive or domineering. Positive masculinity is also about being emotionally intelligent and able to connect with others in a meaningful way. Can women play a role in enhancing the positive masculinity in the society ?

This event will explore positive masculinity and how to express it . You will have the opportunity to hear from expert in the field, participate discussion, and meet other men and women who are committed to promoting positive masculinity.

Speaker: 

Phumza Dyani 

Phumza is a Chief Marketing and Sales Officer in a Telecoms company. She has spent over 18 years in various roles in the ICT industry and is a partner in the Southern African region for the Regional Consortium of Experts for Development (RCD Africa).  

She prides herself on having witnessed the evolution of Telecoms from the era of 2G right up to the current emergence of 5G Technologies. She is fully conversant in policy discussions in Emerging Technologies like AI, IoT, Blockchain, and Robotics. She is a Member of the Global Women in AI, a member of Women in STEM Leaders, and a South African Ambassador for Celo (which is a Blockchain Ecosystem). She is also an International Partner for the World Business Angels Forum for Investments as well as the WBAF Women’s Committee. Recently, she has been appointed as the GCPIT Chairperson for Africa: Women.

Phumza is a Global Speaker on a myriad of topics in ICT, with a special passion for the involvement of women in ICT as leverage for industries as well as AI and IoT and has spoken in International ICT platforms like the ITU (International Telecommunications Union). She is a Columnist for s well as the Voice (Columnist) for SHE-Community’s Digital Magazine called SHE-Insight, a Movement focused on progressing the Gender Parity narrative. Above these accolades, Phumza is a true Advocate for the empowerment of women and continues the work of mobilizing women to stand up for their rights. She is recently a recipient of the GCPIT Top 100 Global Women Leaders Award.
