What is CSP-SM?

Certified Scrum Professional - Scrum Master (CSP-SM) is one of the top most certificates in the IT industry. It’s a certificate program awarded to Scrum Masters with atleast two years of experience as a Scrum Master.

Who is a ScrumMaster? 

A ScrumMaster is a development facilitator who is responsible for enabling Scrum teams to maximize their effectiveness by addressing systemic issues and dysfunctions in the team. The ScrumMaster has four primary focus areas: System Design, Development Practices, coaching Product Owner and coaching Development Team. This workshop is a role-specific workshop to learn about the role of ScrumMaster.

Who is a Certified Scrum Professional? 

A Scrum Professional is a seasoned Scrum Master with at least two years in the trenches working as a Scrum Master. They are the ones who would have helped teams succeed as a team-building customer loving products using Scrum. They may have expanded their skills beyond basic Scrum to Systems Thinking, Lean, Coaching, Advanced facilitation etc.

Learning during the course:

The workshop is designed to help participants gain experience as Scrum Master. The topics covered in the workshop are based on the focus areas of the ScrumMaster. You will be learning the role of Scrum Master through role-plays and by doing. The whole course is split into 4 Sprints with each Sprint focusing on the following topics:

Sprint 1: System and Complexity Theory

• Systems Thinking and tools for applying System
• Systemic Structures
• Designing System for Agility

Sprint 2: Lean Thinking for Lean Enterprise

• Lean Thinking and tools for applying lean thinking.
• Designing systems for flow
• Application of Value Stream Mapping in Business
• Building Lean Enterprise

Sprint 3: Building Functional Teams

• What are the functions of an effective team?
• Uncovering dysfunctions of a team.
• Tools for addressing dysfunctions.
• Promoting the culture of Non-Violent Communication.
• Group facilitation techniques.

Sprint 4: Coaching the Product Owner

• What is Product Management?
• Challenges facing Product Owners doing Product Management and how a Scrum Master can support them?
• Techniques for generating effective user stories.
• Splitting techniques to help the PO plan incremental releases.
• Prioritization Techniques to help PO maximize the value.
