Event Information

Mumbai: the Home of Cricket!

If there is one religion that Mumbai swears by, it’s got to be Cricket. A melee of whites spread across every single Maidan on an ideal Sunday morning, is befitting of Mumbai’s culture. The frenetic activity is a living fact that Mumbai is cricket and cricket is Mumbai.

Who so, we ask? Mumbai has the greatest cricketing history in India, if not in the world. The city has had the maximum representation of cricketers who have gone on to play for India, be it legends like Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Ravi Shastri, Polly Umrigar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, or even the country’s most recent love, Suryakumar Yadav. Hardly surprising then, with this pedigree, Mumbai has won the Ranji trophy 41 times, including 15 times in a row. Mumbai is also home to India’s first international match, at the Bombay Gymkhana, between India and England, making it a historic venue.

The tour, plays an ode to the Mumbai cricket. This walk takes you through historic grounds and Maidans as you get engrossed in tales of cricketers, their lives and their exploits on the cricket field.

Come find out about the hidden stories of Mumbai Maidans and it’s Maestros
